Alyssa Budinock, MHC-LP
Hi, I’m Alyssa. I work liminal spaces in relationships, grief, and transitions. I have particular experiences in adopted-related experiences and family of origin wounds that shape the way we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. My work is rooted in the understanding that unresolved pain often lives not only in our thoughts, but also in our relationships, nervous systems, and bodies.
I work at the intersection of loss, identity, and attachment — supporting clients navigating complex experiences from trauma, grief, adoption, burnout, and the emotional weight that can come with constantly holding it all together. My approach is grounded, direct, and depth-oriented. I help clients explore painful experiences with curiosity and compassion while building the tools needed to feel more connected, regulated, and anchored within themselves.
My work draws from trauma-informed, relational, and somatic approaches rooted in the belief that healing happens within safe, attuned relationships. Together, we work to better understand patterns of protection and disconnection, process difficult emotions, and create space for a more authentic and sustainable way of living and relating.
With training in yoga and end-of-life care, I bring steadiness and presence to some of life’s most tender and overwhelming experiences. I integrate the mind-body connection with a nuanced understanding of grief, attachment, and relational trauma, honoring the reality that healing is rarely linear.
For adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive family members, I offer adoption-competent care that acknowledges the layered and lifelong impact adoption can have on identity, belonging, attachment, and loss. I aim to create space for the parts of your story that may have gone unseen, unspoken, or misunderstood for years.

I help individuals heal from trauma and addiction while building a life that feels more authentic, connected, and sustainable.
I work with people whose experiences don’t fit neatly into a box — those navigating complex trauma, substance use, identity exploration, and the layered realities of living as a queer, neurodiverse, or spiritually-oriented person in a world that doesn’t always feel built for them. As a LMHC-D and Certified Addiction Specialist, I bring deep clinical training and a trauma-informed lens to some of the experiences that are most misunderstood, pathologized, or difficult to talk about openly.
My energy in the therapy room is grounded, relational, and collaborative. I believe healing happens through genuine connection — in a space where you don’t have to perform, shrink yourself, or manage how you’re perceived. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you can show up fully as yourself, including the complicated, conflicted, uncertain, or overwhelmed parts.
I’m comfortable sitting with intensity, complexity, and the realities of addiction, trauma, identity, and spirituality as deeply interconnected experiences — because that’s often how they live within us. Together, we work to better understand patterns of survival and protection, process painful experiences without shame, and help you move toward a life that feels more grounded, aligned, and fully your own.
